Lebanon's Miracle Tree

Latest World News:

Occupied Jerusalem, Palestine -- Sixty years of destruction and killing smear the faces of the Zionists who celebrated their Independence in Palestine. It was on May 1948 that Israel declared its rape of the Palestinians homeland and since that miserable day, the Palestinians faced the option of resistance and die attempting to return their homeland.

Israel's Independence today comes at the skulls and dead bodies of thousands of innocent Palestinians. If the Israeli leaders feel proud of such achievement, history does not hold this massacre as an achievement, but a crime against humanity.

In the mean while, thousands of Palestinians worldwide protested Israel's independence as a Day of Catastrophe against the Palestinians.

In the meanwhile, a new tragic Israeli crime in the West Bank, where Israeli forces shot to death a Palestinian woman and made her 7 children orphans.

Israel, since its occupation of Palestine in 1948, has committed daily crimes against the Palestinians. Illegal settlements were established illegally depriving the Palestinians from their homes and lands. Palestinian groups are waging a war of Independence from European Zionists who occupied Palestine since 1948.

Baghdad, Iraq -- As the death toll of U.S. personnel killed in Iraq approaches the 4,100 mark, two more U.S. servicemembers were killed on Friday. At least 3321 died as a result of hostile action, and about 13,379 servicemembers were wounded and not returned to duty, according to the U.S. military. The military also reported a roadside bombing on Sunday that killed two children and wounded two civilians. It occurred in Khatoon, north of the Diyala provincial capital of Baquba.

For the latest on the number of soldiers killed, check the U.S. Dept of Defense website at the following link, http://www.defenselink.mil/news/casualty.pdf.

The number of U.S. soldiers and personnel killed or wounded in Iraq has been disputed by many U.S. informed sources and military Generals. According to them, the real number is much higher than the number reported by the U.S. DOD.

According to two independent and reliable U.S. studies, over 675 thousands Iraqi civilians and military personnel and militias have been killed since the invasion in 2003.

Yangon, Myanmar -- Over 85,000 people have been confirmed dead in Myanmar, thousands others are considered missing. This tragedy was caused by a cyclone that hit this poverty stricken country on Monday.

CNN reported that "destroyed homes along 30-kilometer stretches. In one area, only four homes remained from a total of 369. People were taking shelter under canvas sheets, and the weather remained awful."

The U.N. World Food Programme (WFP) said it has managed to begin distributing food in areas of Yangon and is preparing to send emergency supplies from across Asia.

Preliminary WFP assessment reports confirmed tremendous storm damage to homes and shelters, and they said flooding and road damage means some areas are still cut off.

Spokeswoman Bettina Luescher said, "Many areas are accessible only by boat, but many of the boats have been destroyed."

United Nations, New York -- The illegal Lebanese government of Fouad Seniora continues to detain the four Lebanese Generals who were detained two years ago without any charge. The Generals were accused of allegedly facilitating the assassination of Rafik Hariri, the former Lebanese prime minister. A charge later refuted by the UN appointed investigator in charge.

According to their families, the generals are being denied the basic of legal procedures. They have been illegally detained for two years and for political reasons are not being able to obtain bails.

In the last two years, the judicial system of Lebanon under the political leadership (of the US and Israeli supported) Fou'ad Seniora, and with the help of Sa'ad Hariri, the son of the Rafik Hariri, has become undemocratic and unjust.

According to many Lebanese and International agencies, the detention of the Generals in the Lebanese prison is unfair, undemocratic, inhumane, illegal and politically motivated.

Informed sources share with us, "if you are detained in Lebanon, and you are not politically supported, there is a great chance of not receiving fair trial or justice. The reality is, in Lebanon, there is no functioning judicial system. Most of the judges are corrupt and are merely employed or receiving favors from the corrupt politicians and party heads." Today, in Lebanon, "there is no judicial justice. If any, the justice is delayed at the expense of human rights and human dignity," they continued.

Beirut, Lebanon -- Lebanon is burning. A labor demonstrations against the illegal Lebanese government Fouad Seniora and its failed policies have turned into a massive support for Hezbollah and the Lebanese oppositions groups. The majority of Lebanese accuse the American kept Prime Minister, Fouad Seniroa, as the reason of why most of their lives and economic situations have worsened.

The protest started early in the morning by demonstrations throughout Lebanon, many of the Lebanese people live below the poverty level. The illegal government of Seniora increased the minimum wage to 500,000 Lebanese lira ($315.00). The demonstrators encouraged by the Lebanese General Labor Union have demonstrated throughout the country.

The opposition indicated that today's demonstration is the first move toward the fall of the American and Israeli backed and illegal government of the traitor* Fouad Seniora.

In other development, Walid Junblat, the Israeli admired Lebanese politician was placed under 24 hours surveillance by Western intelligence  services for fear of his assassination. According to the report, the decision to place Junblat under the protection was by made at the request of the Israeli Mosad. The Lebanese opposition accuse Junblat and Seniora of working and coordinating the Lebanon second war with them in June 2006.

Lebanon, the small country with 4.5 million people has a foreign debts of $48 billions. Most of the debts was acquired under the traitor Fouad Seniora, the current prime minister.

Calls to put these people on trial have been made public by members of the opposition.

The call for the labor protest against the policies of the government was called by the Lebanese General Labor Union.

* Traitor is a term used to describe any  Lebanese citizen who cooperated with the Americans and Israelis against his country and people.

Atlanta, USA -- The American President George W. Bush finally made history as the most unpopular president in the history of this country. A new CNN/Opinion research Corp released this week revealed that the majority of Americans disapprove of how the U.S. president is his job as president.

"No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup Poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president's disapproval rating has cracked the 70 percent mark," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director.

"Bush's approval rating, which stands at 28 percent in our new poll, remains better than the all-time lows set by Harry Truman and Richard Nixon [22 percent and 24 percent, respectively], but even those two presidents never got a disapproval rating in the 70s," Holland said.

The poll also indicates that support for the war in Iraq has never been lower. Thirty percent of those questioned favored the war, while 68 percent opposed it.

"Americans are growing more pessimistic about the war," Holland said. " In January, nearly half believed that things were going well for the U.S. in Iraq; now that figure has dropped to 39 percent."

The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll was conducted by telephone from Monday through Wednesday among 1,008 adult Americans.

The poll's sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
