Occupied Jerusalem, Palestine -- Sixty years
of destruction and killing smear the faces of the Zionists who celebrated
their Independence in Palestine. It was on May 1948 that Israel declared
its rape of the Palestinians homeland and since that miserable day, the
Palestinians faced the option of resistance and die attempting to return
their homeland.
Israel's Independence today comes at the skulls and dead bodies of thousands
of innocent Palestinians. If the Israeli leaders feel proud of such achievement,
history does not hold this massacre as an achievement, but a crime against
humanity.
In the mean while, thousands of Palestinians worldwide protested Israel's
independence as a Day of Catastrophe against the Palestinians.

continues to detain the four Lebanese Generals who were detained two years
ago without any charge. The Generals were accused of allegedly facilitating
the assassination of Rafik Hariri, the former Lebanese prime minister. A
charge later refuted by the UN appointed investigator in charge.
According to their families, the generals are being denied the basic of legal
procedures. They have been illegally detained for two years and for political
reasons are not being able to obtain bails.
In the last two years, the judicial system of Lebanon under the political
leadership (of the US and Israeli supported) Fou'ad Seniora, and with the
help of Sa'ad Hariri, the son of the Rafik Hariri, has become undemocratic
and unjust.
According to many Lebanese and International agencies, the detention of the
Generals in the Lebanese prison is unfair, undemocratic, inhumane, illegal
and politically motivated.
Informed sources share with us, "if you are detained in Lebanon, and you
are not politically supported, there is a great chance of not receiving fair
trial or justice. The reality is, in Lebanon, there is no functioning judicial
system. Most of the judges are corrupt and are merely employed or receiving
favors from the corrupt politicians and party heads." Today, in Lebanon,
"there is no judicial justice. If any, the justice is delayed at the expense
of human rights and human dignity," they continued.

Atlanta, USA -- The American President George W. Bush finally made
history as the most unpopular president in the history of this country. A
new CNN/Opinion research Corp released this week revealed that the majority
of Americans disapprove of how the U.S. president is his job as president.
"No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup
Poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president's disapproval rating
has cracked the 70 percent mark," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director.
"Bush's approval rating, which stands at 28 percent in our new poll, remains
better than the all-time lows set by Harry Truman and Richard Nixon [22 percent
and 24 percent, respectively], but even those two presidents never got a
disapproval rating in the 70s," Holland said.
The poll also indicates that support for the war in Iraq has never been lower.
Thirty percent of those questioned favored the war, while 68 percent opposed
it.
"Americans are growing more pessimistic about the war," Holland said. " In
January, nearly half believed that things were going well for the U.S. in
Iraq; now that figure has dropped to 39 percent."
The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll was conducted by telephone from Monday
through Wednesday among 1,008 adult Americans.
The poll's sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
