The Last Opportunity, A Wishful Thinking!

January 23, 2003

As days go by, minute-by-minute, we realize that we are heading toward the inevitable war on Iraq.

Most of the people we talked with about the issue of Iraq responded with the enlightened answer: It is the oil stupid!

It seems like the administration's lack of economical revival to the country had blinded its common sense and led her to the search of an easier prey to supplement its resources; and with the assumption of economical recovery after the capture of the oil fields of Iraq.

Most analysts frowned on this tyrannic idea with dealing with sovereignty of other nations and governments. That is why France and Germany have refused to hastily join the Administration of its quest for war. We are not implying that France and Germany are supporters of Iraq or Arab issues, what we think is that they are buying time to negotiate with the Administration for an equal prize of the wealth of Iraq.

The latest intelligence reports from Iraq points to an Iraqi plans to destroy the oil fields as soon as the leadership in Iraq feels the battle is losing momentum. If this plan happens, and the oil fields are destroyed as happened in Kuwait. We have to kiss the U.S. economy good-bye and welcome the depression era. All the spendings on the war machine for the benefits of special interest groups in the oil and defense industry, make us wonder how can we balance the budget with such deficit.

To revive the economy, that's what  we believe should be done. The president of this land should take a pro-active approach to what's happening!

How can he do that?

First of all, he has to raise the consumer confidence in the market and make him/her believe in the stability of the country. To do that, he has to extend an olive branch to his enemies, regardless of who they are! The U.S. is strong, and in doing so, it does represent itself as being capable and a powerful nation that knows when, and to how to go to war, but for the sake of humanity it chooses to have peace.

The hypocrisy, ignorance and arrogance are what manage the elements in the Administration. The Hypocrisy of the double standard approach to N. Korea, and Israel. The Administration has turned a blind eye to the suffering of Palestinians while it champions the suffering of the Iraqi people.

The demand to the Iraqis is to disarm, while North Korea and Israel actually posses such weapon is a mind confusing. For this obvious reason, the Administration failed to make its case before the world and its people.

The Administration is very ignorant of the consequences of just attacking Iraq without regards to International laws, and the undesirable precedent it is advocating for! We can not attack another nation just because we don't like its president; or because we want its wealth to revive our economy. This is a medieval thinking that would not prevail, and should not prevail in this century.

Arrogance: The officials in the Administration showed a high level of arrogance in their behaviors, words and acts. Very uncivil like, they stooped to the level of dictatorship, and matched Saddam in his glorious days. It is humanely, and politically WRONG to have behaved in such away.

The Administration, with the outpouring of support it received after September 11, should have led, and be an example of triumph during the worst of times. History has recorded its deeds, and it is not pretty.

What should be done to reverse the course and succeed? Few recommendations that could be the start for a new beginning!

Let the United Nation finish its work in Iraq.

Extend an olive branch to Iran, and the Muslim world; because your image is screwed up. -- Your are so hated, because of this ignorance, stupidity and arrogance.

Give Saddam an ultimatum to disarm, or face the wrath of the United Nation. Not the U.S., we have enough enemies already!

Give Sharon an ultimatum to shape-up, and withdraw the Israeli army from the West Bank, and the occupied territory. You will gain some credibility in the hearts of the suffering Palestinians, and from their hearts to the heart of every Arab and Muslim worldwide.

Release the American-Arabs and Muslims, these Americans were detained without regards to due process, in which the constitution was amended!

Abolish the secret evidence, as Lincoln abolished slavery! Start with new beginning.

Don't go to war alone, you will be disloyal to the soldiers, who entrusted their lives in your command.

Finally, we wish the war never starts, hoping for a peaceful solution.
