A Passive Prayer!

March 19, 2003

Dear God:

In the name of everything you represent, protect the Iraqi civilians, and make their hearts warm and safely pass this journey of hard times. Protect their children, their wealth, their rivers, their oil, their Mosques and Churches. Protect their names and history. Protect their contributions to civilization, protect their libraries and schools. Protect their mountains and skies. Protect their elders and infants, protect their religion and strengthen their faith. Enlighten their leaders to choose the right path, protect their neighbors, protect their cities, their towns and villages, protect the towns of Najef and Karbala.

Dear God:

You are the almighty, the powerful, the one that none stronger than thee.

Enlighten the leaders of their enemy, put mercy and humanity in their hearts. Protect their innocents and young soldiers, put mercy in their hearts, and bring them home safe to their families. Empower them to know the difference, and refrain from killing the innocents civilians.

Please God answer this prayer, because you are the only one that is left to protect Iraq and its people.
